Bremerton Marathon
Kitsap Running proudly presents the Bremerton Marathon. 2026 brings the 5th Bremerton Marathon on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
The Bremerton Marathon features an intense, beautiful, and hilly marathon which loops around Dyes Inlet in Kitsap, WA. It is a great challenge for both the daring new, and the seasoned runner. The Half Marathon race roughly follows the second half of the marathon course. New in 2026 is a 10K option that does an out and back the first 3.1 miles of the full-marathon course.
General Information - Bremerton Marathon
Event Details
The Bremerton Marathon offers a stunning and challenging course that loops around Dyes Inlet, taking you through scenic neighborhoods like Manette, Illahee, Silverdale, and Brownsville. With views of the waterfront, lush forests, and on clear days, Mount Rainier and the Olympics, this race showcases the best of the Pacific Northwest. Expect rolling hills and open roads, making it a great challenge for both seasoned runners and first-timers. Aid stations will be available every 2-4 miles. Join an unforgettable race experience!
Race Course
The race course will be similar to previous years, with some minor alterations. Please note this is a very challenging marathon/half due to the number of large hills throughout the course. It is recommended for the daring and those looking for a great challenge, but may be quite difficult for beginners or those looking for a PR race. It is also run mostly on open roads with a few street crossings, so please plan accordingly. Plenty of aid stations will be provided throughout the course and port-a-potties as often as possible.
Restrictions
Per our insurance requirements runners may not have strollers or pets during the race.
Course Time-Limits
The marathon has a 7 hour time limit and the half marathon has a 5 hour time limit. The 10K has a 2 hour 15 minute time limit. Please plan accordingly. Up-to-date maps and information on our website and facebook page.
Minor Policy
10K - May be run by a runner 10 years of age or older on their own or any age with an adult. Parents/guardians entering younger youth (under 12) are encouraged to monitor their child closely either by having an adult run with them or by checking up on them frequently by bike or car to make sure they are not lost or in distress. Older youth 12+ may run the event without supervision, although depending on the runner's experience and ability more direct support may be appropriate. All runners are encouraged to complete a 10K training program, including at least one run 5+ miles before the event as this will set up the runner for the best chance of success.
Half-Marathon - May be run by a runner 12 years of age or older. Parents/guardians entering younger youth (12 -15) are encouraged to monitor their child closely either by having an adult run with them or by checking up on them frequently by bike or car to make sure they are not lost or in distress. Older youth 16+ may run the event without supervision, although depending on the runner's experience and ability more direct support may be appropriate. All runners are encouraged to complete a half-marathon training program, including at least one run 10+ miles before the event as this will set up the runner for the best chance of success.
Marathon - May be run by a runner 16 years of age or older. Due to the intense nature of the marathon it is highly recommended that all minors, and even adults who are new to the marathon, have someone available for support if they need help during the race, especially in the later miles. We'll try and have volunteers on the course watching for runners, but can't have eyes on the entire 26 miles at all times. All runners are encouraged to complete a marathon training program, including at least one 20+ mile run, before the event as this will set up the runner for the best chance of success.
